Anke Retzlaff studied music (voice, violin, piano) at the Hannover University of Music and drama at the Rostock University of Music and Theatre. She then interned at the UdK Berlin in the field of church music and choir conducting and studied early music and the viola da gamba. As a freelance musician she combines different genres and disciplines and is always eager to experiment.

She integrates and transfers her experience in acting and directing into her musical work. This results in forms of expression that move in different constellations between experimental electronic music, singersongwriting, early music, children's songs, musical language art, scenic song recitals, film and theatre music.
