Jo Beyer is a drummer, composer and lives in Cologne. He studied jazz
drums at the Osnabrück University of Music and at the Royal Academy
of Music Arhus. He works a lot with the extreme dynamic range of playing highly energetic music and does research in creating experimental sounds on the drumset. The experimental quality of his music coupled with his signature emotive expression, has led jazzaward juries to recognize him as being disruptive and innovative in the contemporary scene and supported his musical idea with awarding him a bunch of renowed international
newcomer jazzprizes. Jo Beyer has toured internationally both as a bandleader and sideman can be heard in various TV and radio productions.
